The M39 Enhanced Marksman Rifle (EMR) is a designated marksman rifle used by the Canadian Armed Forces. It is based on the C7A2 rifle and was developed by Colt Canada (formerly Diemaco) in response to the need for a more accurate and capable rifle for designated marksmen.
The M39 EMR features a heavy barrel with a 1:12 twist rate, which allows for greater accuracy at longer ranges. It also has a free-floating handguard, adjustable buttstock, and a detachable 20-round magazine. The rifle is chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition.
